Permissions, Background Operation, and Diagnostics

Learn how to resolve permissions, keep the app active in the background, and access structured diagnostic logs.

macOS Accessibility Permissions

SoLoScreenSnap requires macOS Accessibility permissions to read window coordinates and position windows:

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
Ensure SoLoScreenSnap is toggled ON.
If permissions appear enabled but snapping does not respond, toggle the permission OFF and ON again, then restart the application.

⚠️ Important

SoLoScreenSnap only reads cursor position and window bounds. It never records keystrokes or inspects window content.

Background Operation

Closing the main control center window does not terminate the application.
SoLoScreenSnap runs quietly in your menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows/Linux).
To reopen the control center, click the tray icon or use the hotkey CommandOrControl+Alt+S.
To completely exit the application, choose Quit SoLoScreenSnap from the tray menu.

Accessing Diagnostic Logs

If you encounter unexpected behavior:

Open the tray menu and select Open Snap Diagnostics.
Review the structured local log.
If reporting an issue to support, copy the relevant timestamped log lines and send them to [email protected].
